Lizzy inspired me to write my first-ever Google review, she’s been that amazing! Lizzy is a warm, patient, and knowledgeable dog trainer, and I’ve learned so much in her private lessons and two group classes, Recall for a Meatball and Triumphant Teens. Astro, my 8-month-old Toller, and I have greatly benefited from her empathetic and organized approach to training (having recorded lessons and class notes that she sends makes learning that much easier), and when Astro was in the hospital she also went above and beyond to check in and provide me with any support I needed. It’s also worth emphasizing that although Astro and I are based in Washington, DC, and Lizzy has helped me find good local trainers, I still make use of her remote services because of how much I value her expertise. In short, she’s been a wonderful trainer for me and Astro, and I have no doubt she will be for your dog, too!

Classes
Are you looking for live online classes? Try the highly-rated Recall for a Meatball or Triumphant Teens to get the help you need from the comfort of your own home.
Our pre-adoption meeting was one of the most helpful resources when we decided to rescue our pup. Lizzy was so helpful in giving us tips on how to adjust to a new dog in our home, how to make our new dog comfortable, and ease any anxieties we were feeling regarding breed, training, temperament, etc. We felt so prepared and supported from day one that it was a no-brainer to enroll in her ‘Recall for a Meatball’ class, too!
In Recall for Meatball, Lizzy brings you through a thoroughly researched step by step process on teaching your dog emergency recall and emphasizes that each dog learns at their own pace. She proves this process by teaching her own dogs a new recall word and shares videos of those sessions! In addition to her clear and helpful teachings and demonstrations, she fosters a class environment where you can be open and honest with any struggles you’re facing in your training. Throughout the class, it’s abundantly clear that not only is Lizzy knowledgeable and well educated, but she is deeply passionate about dogs and their well being.
I can’t recommend Lizzy enough - if you’re thinking about taking a class or booking a session, THIS IS YOUR SIGN!!

“Lizzy has been bringing light and compassion into Leo’s life (and ours) since he was three months old. Her expansive knowledge of dogs and dog behavior, from puppyhood into adolescence and beyond, is based not only on science and common sense but also on respect and love for each individual dog. She’s taken Leo through all the basics, helped us cope with reactivity and challenging walks, and shown us how to make training a game all the way. And most of all, she is a calm and kind presence, always ready to answer a question and offer reassurance. After a session with her, Leo stands at the fence and cries as his favorite person in the world drives away. Trainer. For. Life. Thank you, Lizzy, with so much love!”

Who Are The Good Dog People?
They encompass trusted trainers, rescues, shelters, manufacturers of humane training equipment and supplies, veterinarians, groomers, dog walkers, pet sitters, boarding facilities, advocacy groups, and educational programs like my alma mater, The Academy for Dog Trainers.
“We work with Lizzy in individual virtual sessions and are currently taking her virtual Recall for a Meatball class. Lizzy has been the glue that has helped keep me, my husband, and our pup on the same page. She has helped us make sense of behaviors and situations that have been initially hard to understand, and she has translated the science behind dog (and parent!) behavior and training into goals and plans that we can grasp and implement. We come away from every session feeling better about ourselves and our pup. Lizzy also helped us navigate the sudden loss of our first pup with such deep compassion, and was instrumental in our readiness and ability to adopt again. Anyone who is fortunate enough to work with Lizzy will benefit from her expertise, experience, outstanding character, and boundless love of all things DOG!”
